In December so many companies have been launching their own URL shorteners (shall I mention Google?) that I forgot to follow the existing ones.
Take bit.ly for example. Maybe you already know it but the people at bit.ly recently launched bit.ly Pro mid December.
What does this professional version offer?
First, the possibility for publishers and bloggers to use their own short domain names to point to pages on their sites.
Before you rush to the bit.ly website; the custom URLs are only available to a limited number of publisher and bloggers now. Yep, it’s still in beta, and we’re not welcome (yet).
Furthermore, the Pro version comes with a real-time dashboard that provides publishers with more information about their bit.ly traffic, enabling a real-time view of content that is being distributed across Twitter but also across social networks such as Facebook and even across services like email, SMS, and instant messenger.
Coming soon to a domain name near you or maybe yours. When? No idea.
