Social email marketing on LinkedIn: advice on the integration of social and email

Building blocks

Blogging is great. Not only from a business and inbound marketing perspective but also from a personal perspective. It allows you to share insights and content with everyone that has an Internet connection, finds and appreciates your blog.

Although blogs are social media hubs, they still miss an ingredient: “real connections”. It is a known fact that relatively few people comment on blogs. But what we, at Social Email Marketing have been seeking is much more than spreading content and building an online “influence sphere” and community.

What we want to do in the first place is explaining about social media, email and the integration of both. And also learning from others and providing advice. In order to do that, we have to connect with these “others” first. As from today we will, more than ever. And we will provide and request advice and insights as well.

OK, we are already connected. We’re on Twitter, we’re on Facebook, on StumbleUpon, FriendFeed, in fact we’re a bit everywhere. As you might know, we’re also part of the Social Marketing Forum, an umbrella (and Ning community) for a group of bloggers that believe in peer-to-peer and want to share, get and most of all give advice.

As from today we want to take this much further. As we write this, we are step-by-step inviting all our LinkedIn connections to join the Social Marketing Forum LinkedIn group.

Obviously, many will not join now, it’s weekend but this enables us to gradually roll this out.

Free advice on the combination of email and social

Now, what does this have to do with advice on the integration of social and email? A lot!

Because this LinkedIn group will have an increasing number of subgroups, again step by step.

The subgroups will be related to all possible topics: from social search, over PR 2.0 to social email marketing. Each subgroup will be managed by several people and be supported by blogs.

And that’s where Social Email Marketing comes in. Because we created a subgroup where we invite all marketers that are interested in the convergence of social media and email in order to connect, exchange ideas and provide advice.

Of course you can also join the other subgroups that will gradually be rolled out.

Get to know us personally and let’s put our minds together!

Join us in the Social Marketing Forum group on LinkedIn and then join us in the Social Email Marketing subgroup.

Looking forward to connect!
